They contain children’s friendships, entertainment, creative expression, schoolwork, family communication, and increasingly, their sense of social identity.

That makes the conversation about technology much more complicated than simply deciding how many hours of screen time should be allowed.

A phone may be helping a child stay connected to a parent in another home. It may give them a way to express themselves creatively. It may also become the place they go whenever they feel lonely, overstimulated, anxious, bored, or unwilling to sit quietly with their own thoughts.

In this episode of The Dragon’s Nest, we explore the uncomfortable space between protection and control.

How do we recognize a genuine addiction pattern without shaming children for living inside the world adults created? How do we place boundaries around technology when our own work, friendships, and distractions also live inside the same devices? And how do we give children enough physical grounding that they have somewhere real to return when the digital world becomes overwhelming?

We do not offer one perfect answer. Instead, we talk honestly about what we are noticing, what we are learning, and why the conversation must begin with the adults.

With what this brings up for you. That question opened up a much larger conversation about money, work, purpose, spiritual awakening, social media, integrity, readiness, and the slow bridge between the old way of surviving and the new way of living.

We talk about what it feels like when your old job, career, or business starts to feel incompatible with who you are becoming. We also talk about the practical side of that transition, because most people cannot simply quit everything overnight and expect the new life to be fully built by morning. Sometimes the bridge is humble. Sometimes it looks like part-time work. Sometimes it looks like starting with free work, practicing, gathering reviews, refining your skill, and letting the work become stronger before it becomes your main source of income.

We also go into social media, because for many people who want to build a more spiritual, creative, holistic, or values-based business, the immediate assumption is that they have to plug themselves into Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and the endless online performance machine. We talk about why that is not always true, how those apps can begin to shape your voice and your work, and why YouTube, newsletters, long-form writing, podcasts, and word-of-mouth can create a very different kind of foundation.

This episode is for the person who can feel that the old life does not fit anymore, but does not yet have the whole new map in their hands. It is also for the person who is wondering whether their current skills can be used in a different way, whether their business has to look like everyone else’s, and whether making money can become part of the spiritual path instead of a departure from it.

With what this brings up for you. We are constantly being told what to eat, what to avoid, which diet is best, how much protein we need, what is healthy, what is unhealthy, and what the latest research says. Yet for all the information available, many people feel more disconnected from their bodies than ever before.

In this conversation, we talk about our very different experiences growing up in Europe and America, how food systems shape our relationship with eating, why intuitive eating matters, the role of movement and lifestyle, and how learning to listen to the body often provides answers that no diet can give us.

In this specific episode we talk about:

• How food culture differs between different places across the world.

• The overwhelming amount of conflicting nutritional information people are exposed to today.

• Why many food-related challenges are connected to broader lifestyle patterns rather than individual foods alone.

• The differences between local food systems and large-scale industrial food systems.

• Preservatives, shelf life, and how modern food production has changed what ends up on our plates.

• Food sensitivities and hormonal changes.

• The connection between conscious eating and developing a deeper awareness of the body’s signals.

• Intermittent fasting and hunger.

• Coffee, caffeine, moderation, and finding balance without becoming rigid

• Why health is rarely about following strict rules and more about developing a relationship with your own body.

You can also find this podcast on YouTube & Spotify!

Let us know what you felt after watching this!

We would love your thoughts on what direction to take this in so please

This Substack is reader-supported.
